Nature’s candy
I use medjool dates, but use the ones you have on hand. It’s important to pit them, of course. Dates are very sweet and are often used to mimic caramel in vegan or healthy recipes. I have been using them to sweeten my recipes naturally for a long time, not knowing it would become such a trend. I had intuitively detected that their texture and sweetening power were powerful. The current trend only confirms that it is a winning formula! I also use dates in some savoury recipes!
