Ingredients

3/4 cup (3/4 t = 188 ml) chick peas

1 tbsp (1 tbsp = 15 ml) sesame butter (Tahini)

1/2 tbsp (1/2 tbsp = 7.5 ml) lemon juice

3 tbsp (3 tbsp = 45 ml) water

1 cloves of garlic

to taste salt

to taste pepper

Hummus is so good! And so easy to make at home. Here is my simple recipe, which you can “pimp” your way with caramelized onions, pine nuts, roasted garlic, roasted peppers… name it!
It’s nice to use it as a dip, but I just love creating all dressed bowls with it. It’s up to you!
I use a touch of Tahini in my recipe. Tahini is one of my favourite ingredients. Check it out here.

Rinse and drain canned chickpeas. |

Peel the garlic clove and slice it in half. |

Place the garlic pieces in a bowl containing 45 ml of water. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. |

Place garlic and cooking water, drained chickpeas, lemon juice, salt and pepper (all ingredients except Tahini) in the container of a small electric mixer such as a Nutribullet (or other brand). |

Mix for 30 seconds. Stir. Repeat until smooth. |

Add Tahini. Mix by hand. |

Adjust the seasoning, add a bit of olive oil on top if desired and serve. |
