Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1/2 cup (1/2 cup = 70 g) strawberries fresh or frozen
1/2 (1/2 = 50 g) banana
1 large leaf fresh basil
1/4 cup (1/4 cup = 40 g) cashew nuts
1 tsp (1 tsp = 5 ml) maple sugar or other sugar or none
1/2 cup (1/2 cup = 125 ml) water

This creamy strawberry, banana and basil vegan smoothie (dairy-free) is a guaranteed hit! So creamy thanks to cashews! No need to soak cashews if you have a good blender. Personally, I use the Nutribullet and the result is perfectly homogeneous.

Iron and calcium: there are plenty of them in plant foods

Look at the nutrition facts of this smoothie. Although vegan, it provides an excellent dose of iron, calcium, protein, good fats, fibers and vitamins.

Long live the nuts

Nuts are powerful! Cashew is particularly interesting here because it gets really creamy when blended with the rest of the ingredients and it contains excellent fats that are filling. Good fats are super important! Being vegetarian and very often adopting a vegan menu, nuts and nut butter are part of my life… several times a day! My blood results are impeccable: my doctor says I have an incredible HDL (good cholesterol)… worthy of the Mediterranean who eat almost just fish. And yet, I very rarely eat fish because I prefer a plant-based diet. In summary: no more fat phobia. Just choose the right one!

Basil

Basil makes the recipe, but it’s just as delicious without this addition. Fyi! 1 large basil leaf gives just enough flavour to the beverage.
